And, the most fun question of our pre-trip planning is: what exciting stuff are you buying? I can't wait to see our answers, particularly after I distribute The Pathmaster's suggested gear list for turtle watching plus nature preserve and swamp hiking! Of course, we'll also shop in Trinidad and Tobago, but I'd plan to bring necessaries like sunscreen, etc., from home.
I bought tiny battery-operated fans coz I thought they were cute, not because I think they'll have much cooling effect in the rain forest. lol! And they were only 2 for $1.99 at Walgreens. If the batteries are still charged when it's time to come home, I can give the fans away to some little children on the island.
ReplyDeleteBesides my DEET bug spray I don't think I need to buy anything else, however I am definitely going to make sure to bring a water bottle/Nalgene type bottle. Very important to stay hydrated!!! Since it's going to be so hot I'm sure we won't forget to drink, but I've made that mistake before and was down for the count that evening w/ a massive headache. No fun :-( Drink water like The Pathmaster suggests, BEFORE you are even thirsty :-D
